Can you match my existing brickwork for an extension?
Matching brickwork is one of the most important parts of any extension, and something we take seriously. We use specialist brick suppliers across the North West and regularly match Victorian and Edwardian bricks common across Wirral. We bring sample bricks to your site visit.
What is repointing and do I need it?
Repointing is the replacement of deteriorated mortar between bricks. If your mortar is crumbling, cracked, or recessed more than 10mm, it needs attention — for both weatherproofing and structural integrity. We use the correct mortar specification for the brick type, including soft lime mortars for older properties.
How long does repointing take?
A standard semi-detached front elevation typically takes 2 to 3 days. A full house repoint can run 5 to 10 days depending on size and access requirements.
What is the difference between sand and cement render and silicone render?
Sand and cement render is the traditional approach — solid but prone to cracking if applied incorrectly. Silicone render is flexible, crack-resistant, and breathable, and carries a manufacturer's guarantee. We advise which is right for your property and substrate on the site visit.
