What type of foundation does my extension need?
It depends on the soil type, the load above, and ground conditions. Most residential extensions use strip foundations at around 1m depth. Made ground, clay, or poor ground conditions may require a raft, pad, or mini-pile foundation. We assess the ground on site and specify the correct solution.
Do I need building regulations for groundworks?
Yes, groundworks are covered by Part A (structure) and Part H (drainage) of the building regulations. We submit the relevant notices and arrange stage inspections so everything is signed off correctly.
Can you handle drainage connections?
Yes. We install complete soil and rainwater drainage systems and connect to the existing below-ground runs. If your project requires a connection to or build-over of a public sewer, we handle the required approval with the relevant authority.
Is muck away included in your quote?
Yes. Removal of all excavated soil from site is included in our groundwork quotes — you won't be left with a pile of spoil at the end of the job.
